New Car, New Car

Guess what???!!! It is Friday!!! And by reading the title, you can tell that I got a new car!!! Yesterday I traded my piece of shit 2012 Ford Focus SE for a handsome 2010 Scion xB Sport Utility. And it drives like a dream! My first real car was a 2000 Ford Expedition when I was 17. So I'm used to driving bigger vehicles and then I totaled that and got a 2006 Chevy Cobalt (really I got a BMW before the Cobalt, but that was with an ex and is a horrible story) and then the Ford Focus. I do not like driving small cars. Even though this isn't an SUV, it is a big "wagon". It is so roomy, which is much needed when you have 3 large dogs like me. It also drives so smooth, has more power, and I just feel so much more stable and safe in it. So happy!!!

And now I match Steve lol. I would never get the same vehicle as my boyfriend just to match. He is the one that recommended I get this and was telling me all about it and the Scion xB sounded pretty much perfect. I actually even have the same year as his.

 I named my car Luther.

Well, I will let all of you lovely people get back to your Fridays and I hope you all enjoy the weekend!

What I'm Listening To

Happy Hump Day! So there won't be a WTF Wednesday this week. I am so out of it. I feel extra weak and just everything has been so much worse this week. I'm not sure if shoveling overworked my body or what. I even forgot my glasses this morning. About 20 minutes into my drive, I realized my vision was blurry- yea, it took me 20 minutes to realize that. I touched my face and then realized I forgot my glasses. I don't know how I could possibly forget that. But I'll be ok b/c they are just for reading, being on the computer (which I'm on the computer almost all day for my job lol), and driving. Oh well, shit happens.

And after work, Steve is supposed to come over and I'm supposed to cook the dinner I was supposed to cook this past Saturday- but the snow ruined that. Chicken & Fresh Mozzarella Pasta...yum. He is going to sleep over and then we are going to wake up at like 2 a.m. (b/c I normally wake up around 3-3:20 a.m. on regular work days) and go eat breakfast together at the diner right up the street from me before I go to work. And he planned this himself. I think my planning/ scheduling is rubbing off on him a little bit.

So what I am going to share with you today is the top 5 songs I've been listening to lately (in no particular order).

  •    Love Me Like You Do- Ellie Goulding
  •    Chains- Nick Jonas
  •    Lay Me Down- Sam Smith
  •    Thinking Out Loud- Ed Sheeran
  •    Heartbeat Song- Kelly Clarkson
What songs have you been listening to a lot lately?

The Oscars

Hello everyone! So I read a pin on Pinterest that had facts about the people associated with their zodiac sign (trying to word this correctly?) and it said a Cancer's (my zodiac sign) lucky day or best day is Monday. I seriously do not know how that can possibly be. So weird...

Time to talk about the Oscars... well, what people wore at the Oscars. I know some people will disagree with me, but I LOVE Lady Gaga's entire look. Her dress, accessories, how she wore her hair and makeup with it. This newly engaged woman looks absolutely stunning!

And Oprah has got it going on! She nailed it with this dress!!! It flatters her so well and anyone of any age could wear this dress. I'm loving the color too.

Kelly Osbourne nails it again! I am obsessing over her style lately. By the way, I could definitely see this as a wedding dress. This is another dress that could be worn by women of different ages. Gorgeous!

Now there were a lot of great dresses (suits, and outfits) worn to the Oscars. But there is always at least one bad choice out there. And here it is...Lorelei Linklater. I don't really recognize her, but that isn't the point. This dress was just all wrong. I can't tell if the whole chest area is super sheer or a thick nude fabric or what is even going on there at all and it just looks like parts of two different dresses were put together to make this dress. I just don't know, I'm speechless and not in a good way.

InstaNatural Dead Sea Mud Mask Review

Hi everyone! I'm bringing you a review on another one of InstaNatural's products, their dead sea mud mask. This product, like many of InstaNatural's products, is 100% natural. What is even more special about the dead sea mud mask is that it is a holistic detoxifier and purifier.

Anyone who knows me knows that I have a lot of problems with my skin. Besides the fact that I am a young adult still suffering from acne, I also have a skin condition that I was born with called Keratosis Pilaris. This leaves my skin red, itchy, dry, sensitive, and bumpy. So I am always trying new skincare products.

To use the mud mask, first apply a thin layer on your skin. If you are applying it to your face, like I did, avoid the eye and lip areas. Then leave the mask on for 10-15 minutes.

In this 10-15 minutes, the mud mask is absorbing excess oil, dirt, and toxins from the skin. It also helps to remove acne, pimples, and blackheads, as well as, restore an even skin tone.
This picture of me was taken right after I applied the mask. I did not use any filter so that you can kind of see how red my skin usually is.

After I first applied the InstaNatural dead sea mud mask to my face, it felt like my skin was actually being cleaned. It kind of felt like minty toothpaste was on my face scrubbing my pores. I don't know about ya'll, but I love that fresh cleansing feeling. My mask was left on for 10 minutes. At the 10 minute mark, the mask was completely dry, my skin felt tightened, and then it actually started to burn or irritate a little bit. It was a mild feeling but if anyone experiences this, you should rinse the mask off immediately. It is recommended that if redness or irritation occurs, you should discontinue use. I plan to try this at least one more time and see if the slight burning feeling reoccurs.

To remove the mask, use warm water and gentle circular motions to your skin. I am going to try this product at least once more because after I rinsed the mask off, my skin really does feel cleaner and tighter. It will take time to see if this dead sea mud mask does work long term for me because of how my skin is. An important thing when using this product is to not use it more than once a week. This will help to prevent your skin from drying out.

To learn more about the InstaNatural Dead Sea Mud Mask, you can visit their website:
http://instanatural.com/collections/body-hair/products/dead-sea-mud-mask

You can order this product on Amazon but remember to sign into smile.amazon.com instead of just amazon.com so that you can choose a shelter, charity, or organization that part of the money you spend will go towards. And it does not cost any extra money to use Amazon Smile.

Art and the Start of Tattoo #7

Hope everyone is having a great Saturday! And for those of you getting snow like I am right now, please be safe and stay warm! I've actually done some cleaning today and am in the middle of doing a lot of laundry. I'm not getting as much accomplished as I wanted to but at least I am getting most of it accomplished. Steve is supposed to come over later tonight after he gets off work and I am cooking him chicken & mozzarella pasta. I'm hoping the snow stops before he gets off of work and the roads are safe enough for him to drive here *knock on wood*.

So before Valentine's Day, like maybe two weeks before or something, Steve made me a piece of wall art. He makes these awesome shadow boxes with his drawings of moths and/ or crystals. He gave me one with a crystal drawing inside. They are so cool and it looks great in my kitchen against the red wall.

He also just sent me a picture he made for me in case he doesn't make it over tonight to give to me. He drew me a geometric English Bulldog with a beautiful blue background, which will look perfect in my room. It is amazing and perfect and I love it.

He is so talented and I LOVE his artwork and that he makes stuff for me. You can click here to visit his Facebook page that specifically has artwork and tattoos he has done. He just made this page. Also, follow him on Instagram here. If you are ever in PA, live in PA, or are on the East Coast, you should definitely hit up 717 Tattoo in Mechanicsburg, PA and get a tattoo done by him, Steve Gentile. If you like his artwork style, contact him and see if you can buy some of his artwork or pay him to make you a specific piece.

Speaking of my amazing man... Thursday night he started on my 7th tattoo! I have a skin condition I was born with called Keratosis Pilaris and so I have sensitive bumpy dry skin. So he is taking his time with this one since it is on my Keratosis Pilaris. He drew this up this week and then asked if I wanted to come in to get it started. That definitely made my day! Here is what my 7th tattoo looks like so far:
I took this picture when I had gotten home that same night.

I love it! A hippo and a lotus flower. My mom's co-worker/ my co-worker said I had to name the hippo, so I just named her Henrietta lol.

   What do you think?

Valentine's Day Weekend Part 2: What I Got

Friday!!! Yes!!! You seemed like you would never come. Thank God it is Friday!

So I wanted to follow up with my Valentine's Day Weekend Recap post with the Valentine's Day presents Steve gave me. At first I didn't even expect him to get me anything and then the night before he told me he got me something. So I definitely wasn't expecting more than one present. I am so lucky :) I'm not sure if I ever mentioned what I got Steve. So if I didn't, I'll tell ya now. When we went to that concert New Year's Eve, he wanted this hoody they were selling but they didn't have any available in his size at the time. So I went online and ordered it. And he loves it, so I feel like I succeeded in getting him a good Valentine's Day present. It's so difficult getting presents for guys. I just got lucky this time.

I tried getting a decent picture of all of my presents together.

Both of these shirts are sold at the 717 Tattoo shops (Where he works as a Tattoo Artist; at the Mechanicsburg location). I love them both and should have gotten a picture of me wearing the one on the left yesterday.

A hippo figurine. My favorite animal besides dogs :)

Of course, an English Bulldog statue. I love it! He knows me so well.

Chocolates. Can't go wrong with chocolates!

He put all of my presents in this really nice wooden box and suggested I use it for the dogs' toys. I really like this box and I really needed a 2nd box for the dog toys, so it was perfect.

Valentine's Day Weekend Recap

I know, I know, I'm a tad late on this post but hey, better late than never. Valentine's Day weekend didn't go exactly how I thought it would. I'm so glad that Friday night I asked Steve where he wanted me to meet him Saturday night because then he informed me that his friend and the girl his friend is talking to were also meeting us and going with us. I then found out that we weren't going out to dinner either. But it's ok because even though I wanted to go out to dinner and dress up, at least I knew ahead of time so that I didn't show up with my hair curled and in a skirt and heels. Plus, I really like his friend and the girl. They are both hilarious and fun to hang out with.

After I was almost ready, it started snowing. I didn't think anything of it because it didn't seem like a lot and although I hate driving in the snow, I'm used to it. Welll when I started driving, the snow started coming down hard so that I couldn't see while driving and the harsh temperature was making everything on the roads freeze. My tires kind of need to be replaced soon too. So I was sliding and then finally decided to go back home because it was not safe at all. I almost didn't make it home too and got stuck in the middle of an intersection for a minute. Thankfully I made it home in one piece. I called Steve and told him and was worried that because I couldn't drive to him, I wouldn't be seeing him. But I have an amazing boyfriend and after he got off work, he drove to me and picked me up. By the time he got there, the snow had stopped. Then we got food- Burger King lol because that was the closest and with snow covered, slippery, icy roads, you do not want to go out of your way.

So all four of us rode in Steve's Scion to his dad's house in Philly. The drive wasn't too bad considering the road conditions. I'm really glad that we drove to Philly Saturday night instead of Sunday morning. We got to sleep in some and Steve's dad made us breakfast. I also got to meet Steve's grandmother. His grandmother and stepmom showed me where they got some of their dishes and stuff because I loved them and they got them off of QVC and they are by "Temp-tations." So we had fun looking at that stuff and I had a lot of nice conversations with his dad, stepmom, and grandmother. It was really nice. I love them already lol.

The tattoo convention was fun. A little crowded but fun. I didn't get anything because I am trying to save money. Oh yea, before the convention we went to this hat store where Steve got this really amazing hat that looks so good on him. He kept trying hats on me- I can't pull off hats, I just can't. I do like big black floppy ones and saw one that was ok and then he finally found a hate that looked really good on me and I really liked. It was like a burgundy/ wine color. But I didn't get it because it was $45 and I'm trying to save money. All in all, it was a good day and a fun weekend. I didn't take any pictures at the convention because it didn't even come to my mind, plus you aren't allowed to.

By the way, in case you were wondering, I paid my sister to take care of my dogs Saturday night through Sunday night when I got back.

Since this post has turned out to be a little long, I'll post a part 2 with the presents Steve got me for Valentine's Day.

I only have this picture of me from Valentine's Day. My outfit wasn't anything special since all we did was get Burger King and drive to Philly. Oh yea and it is a little difficult to see but I did get my hair cut almost 2 weeks ago- did I mention that? Maybe I should do a post capturing different angles of my hair since I did the asymmetrical bob again.

I hope you all had a great weekend!

Lent Starts Today?

So I definitely forgot Lent starts today. I rarely give up anything for lent and when I do, I usually don't follow through with it. Recently, I've started trying to eat healthier and stuff and am working on trying to not drink as much soda. About a month (give or take) ago, I started going back to only drinking soda when I ate out. But I'm also going to start limiting my tea intake as well. Anyways, I figure I might as well just give up soda completely for lent.

Starting today until Lent ends on April 2nd (April 2nd right? I don't know, I Googled it.), I will not drink any soda at all.

Are you giving up anything for lent this year?

What the ? Wednesday

I want to apologize for there not being a WTF Wednesday post today. I have been really fatigued and feel like crap. My body aches and feels like I've been hit by a bus. And I'm freezing. I really hope this cold weather goes away and no more snow! *Knock on Wood*

I hope you are enjoying your week and I will try to get my Valentine's Day recap post up soon. Happy Hump Day!

Valentine's Day Flowers

It is Friday!!! Yay, it is finally here!!! Who's excited for it to be Valentine's Day tomorrow??? I'm so excited for this weekend. Still have a lot to do and the cupcakes I was originally going to make just seems like they are going to take too much time and energy for my schedule. So I'm going to make heart shaped brownies instead. I'm hoping to find an alphabet mold or alphabet cookie cutters at Walmart tonight to make X and O brownies too.

Well, it looks like this will be my last Valentine's Day related post besides the post I will do to recap the weekend and share my outfit I wore on Valentine's Day. So one thing people tend to get (or give) on Valentine's Day is flowers. In fact, my sister's unofficial guy gave her red roses yesterday for Valentine's Day since he will be in Vermont this weekend.

I came across an article the other day on Yahoo!, no surprise there, listing 10 different Valentine's Day flowers and their meanings. So I thought I'd share that with you all.

1. Roses
Roses are probably the most popular flower given on Valentine's Day. And the meaning of roses? Romantic love.

2. Daisies
I don't know why but this one surprised me a little. Personally, when I think of Valentine's Day, I don't think of daisies buttt I mean daisies are some people's favorite flower and they mean Beauty and Innocence. So after knowing their meaning, daisies definitely make sense to give on Valentine's Day.

3. Carnations
You can't really go wrong with carnations. They come in so many different colors. Carnations means new love. I didn't know this either. This would be really appropriate for new couples.

4. Sunflowers
Sunflowers doesn't scream Valentine's Day to me either but they mean warmth and happiness. So they're pretty versatile and can be given to anyone on Valentine's Day, not just your significant other.

5. Alstroemerias
Ok I have never even heard of this flower before but by looking at the picture, they look familiar. These flowers mean friendship. Like sunflowers, alstroemerias can be given to anyone on Valentine's Day as well.

6. Orchids
Such a beautiful flower and with a lovely meaning too! Beauty and strength. I love, love, love this! I used to want to get an orchid tattooed on me and then just never did. After knowing the meaning, I definitely want one tattooed on me.

7. Casa Blanca Lillies
Lillies are one of my favorites too. The lily is actually my birth flower, specifically casa blanca lillies. Or at least that's what I read somewhere. They mean celebration. I think for Valentine's Day, a bouquet of casa blanca lillies and red roses would look beautiful.

8. Gardenias
Purity and Joy. I don't really have much to say about gardenias or their meaning. They're another flower you can't really go wrong with and are can be given at lots of celebrations.

9. Irises
The meaning of irises is faith and hope. Oh how my sister would love this. Her middle name is Hope and so she basically loves everything that means or has the word "hope" in it.

10. Tulips
And finally...tulips, which means perfect love. Love this, but you have to be careful when choosing the color. According to this article, yellow tulips mean hopelessly in love while white tulips mean forgiveness. So if you give someone a white tulip and they know the meaning, they might think you did something wrong. And if you both know the meaning, well, then obviously the person giving the flower did do something wrong. So definitely avoid white tulips on Valentine's Day!

You can read more of the details in this article here.

Happy Friday and Happy early Valentine's Day! I hope everyone has a good one!

Look What Got Delivered Yesterday

Yes! Only one more day until Friday! Ugh and I have a Doctor's appointment today. The Psychiatrist. And I have to tell him my other Doctor switched one of my meds and wants him to wean me off another one of my meds and put me on something different.

Anyways, so everyone tells me my purse is too big. I love my purse and love big purses but I knew I needed to get something smaller for going out to restaurants, places to see bands, convention centers (like the Philly tattoo convention this weekend!), etc. I am so picky with purses and I didn't want to spend a lot of money either.

I really love Rebecca Minkoff bags. I really loved this one and some similar ones:
But me being the practical money saving woman that I am (or trying to be), I knew I couldn't afford one. So I decided to look for something similar but much cheaper (I think the Rebecca Minkoff bag shown above is $195). Finally, I found this crossbody at Nordstrom (online of course). And it was only $32.00!!! Plus tax but that was like nothing and they have free shipping. Score!

I love it! And love the blush color! Now another thing to add to my list of things to do: switch my necessary stuff from my big bag to this one before Saturday night. Oh yea, and Steve actually made plans- kind of. Yesterday he suggested we go to dinner after he gets off of work Saturday night and then drive to his dad's house in Philly. It's much more practical and easier this way because 1. we have a plan, 2. we don't have to wake up super super early Sunday morning to drive all the way to Philly and hope we don't hit traffic, and 3. we get more/ better sleep. On Saturday nights, we are usually out til like 2 or 3 a.m. So we would've ended up getting like maybe 2 hours of sleep. I'm so proud of him for making a plan and coming up with it 3 days in advance! Planning things= a happy girlfriend.

What do you all think of my new bag?
