2016 Christmas Card

Image
Good Morning y'all! Only 5 more days until Christmas!!! I can't believe it is so close and despite getting our Christmas shopping done super early this year, not a single gift is wrapped.

Anyways, as usual, we put the dogs in their Holiday attire for their Christmas card picture. We even got Gary the same tie that Tigger has. And as expected, Christmas card picture taking this year was not easy at all thanks to Gary. We had little time and patience and just wanted to get the job done, so here is our Christmas card for 2016...

And I know, Audrey, Tigger and I aren't officially McAwards yet but close enough! Only a hair over 5 months until we are!
Merry Christmas from The McAwards everyone! I hope everyone has a great and safe Holiday and be on the lookout for the nursery reveal post this week that I promised I'd have up.

38 Week Bumpdate

We're in the single digits y'all! 9 days until Rory is here!!!
How Far Along: 38 weeks and 2 days

Due Date: 12/31/2016 New Year's Eve but c-section is scheduled for 12/28/16.

Baby is the Size of: A swiss chard (whatever that is)! Baby should be measuring about 19-22" long and should weigh 6.5 lbs. This still makes me laugh. My little chunky monkey was weighing in at 8 lbs almost 2 weeks ago and is expected to weigh 9 1/2 lbs when I give birth to her in 9 freakin' days!!!

Weight Gain: 43 lbs.

Symptoms: Nausea, headaches, sensitive boobs, moody, fatigue, sciatic nerve pain, back pain, fainting, heartburn, hip pain, acid reflux, pelvic pressure, cramping, calf cramps, minor swelling (in my fingers, feet/ ankles, and face but more so my feet/ ankles), pregnancy farts, and braxton hicks. I've had to start taking 2-3 Diclegis pills a day for morning sickness. Still feeling nauseous, sick, and like crap and still so over pregnancy and ready for Rory to be here. Last …

37 Week Bumpdate

Ugh, Mondays... but at least I just have to get through this week and next week and then I'll be off for the Holidays, I'm taking off the day before my c-section, and then I'll be on "maternity leave".

How Far Along: 37 weeks and 2 days

Due Date: 12/31/2016 New Year's Eve but c-section is scheduled for 12/28/16.

Baby is the Size of: A winter melon! Baby should be measuring about 19-22" long and should weigh 6.5 lbs. Hahaha. So I had my last ultrasound with the high risk specialist 6 days ago and Rory is weighing 8 lbs (96th percentile). Can you believe it?! So her new estimated birth weight at my c-section will be 9 1/2 lbs- Lord held me.

Weight Gain: 40 lbs. Yup, I finally hit the big 40 and it is definitely hard to accept, especially since I don't really eat like crap and don't eat a whole lot extra aaand I still have 16 days until my c-section. But as I always say, it is what it is.

Symptoms: Nausea, headaches, sensitive boobs, moody, fatigue, s…

Wedding Wednesday

Image
Happy Wedding Wednesday! I decided to only doing Wedding Wednesdays once a month instead of twice because they were getting a little boring and I just don't feel like doing two with being pregnant and all. So let's get straight to the chase and look at what we got done last month and what we need to get done this month...

From last month's to-do list:

Finish calculating food & drink estimate. I know, I know, it is absolutely ridiculous and sad that we haven't finished this... so it'll be on yet another month's to-do list.   Start creating a reception playlist or at least figure out how many songs we need to choose. Yup, haven't done this either.   Pick out/ order wedding bands... yes! This is done and we have our wedding bands at the house! And it definitely worked in our favor getting them on Black Friday. They were on sale and we came in under budget, yay!!! This is the one I chose from Littman Jewelers!!!
Finalize what the Ring Bearer is going…

Baby is the Size of: A large canteloupe! Baby should be measuring about 19-22" long and should weigh 6 lbs. Ha! At my ultrasound 4 weeks ago, she was weighing 6 lbs 1 oz. I'll find out how much she is weighing now tomorrow at my appointment with the high risk specialist.

Weight Gain: 37 lbs. Yup, I'm just going to have to accept this weight gain. I'm at the point where I do not care anymore (kind of) and just want to eat whatever will make me feel better.

Symptoms: Nausea, headaches, sensitive boobs, moody, fatigue, sciatic nerve pain, back pain, fainting, heartburn, hip pain, acid reflux, pelvic pressure, and braxton hicks (I think). I've had to start taking 2-3 Diclegis pills a day for morning sickness. I have just been feeling so sick a…

Thankful...

In the spirit of Thanksgiving being tomorrow, I thought I'd do a short, sweet, and simple little post on some things I am thankful for...

1. Rory Brielle- Although she is not here yet, I am so thankful that she is my daughter and I am blessed to be the one she will call "mom".

I am also thankful that she is ok after Monday's scare. Ok, I wasn't that scared because I know my daughter but I was scared a tiny bit and she sure scared her daddy and her nonna. I went in for my annoying weekly non stress test. My test results came back as nonreactive and I had to be sent to triage at the hospital next door for another non stress test. All in all, she's fine. She was probably just sleeping during the first non stress test and/ or being her stubborn little sassy self. I'll give more details on this scare in my 35 week bumpdate on Monday.

2. Tigger, Audrey, and Gary- I love my fur babies (yes, even Gary) more than anything in the world and am so thankful to be …

The Perfect Side

With it being deer season and all, Jesse got his hunting trip done and out of the way before baby Rory makes her appearance. A few weekends ago, he went hunting down on my grandmom's property in VA with some of my uncles and cousins. So we've been eating some yummy delicious venison on the weekends (the dogs too- they LOVE it!) lately.

Deer meat isn't for everyone but I was brought up eating it and absolutely love it. Every time Jesse has been cooking us deer meat, he has been letting it marinate in Olive Garden's Italian dressing and it is so freaking good that way. But what is a good piece of meat without a mouthwatering side?

I was so happy when I read Alexis' Friday post on her blog, Chemistry Cachet. Besides getting to see a cute picture of her adorabull bulldog, she also had a recipe for Balsamic Honey Roasted Brussels Sprouts! I had never liked tried brussels sprouts until I met Jesse but once I tried them, I loved them and anyone who knows me knows…

34 Week Bumpdate

I feel bad saying this sometimes but I'm forreal over this pregnancy. I am not one of those ladies that has had a smooth easy pregnancy and just absolutely loves being pregnant. And don't think for a minute that I wish I had never gotten pregnant because that's 100% false. And although I wish she'd be here already to put me out of this discomfort and misery, I really am hoping she stays put until at least 37 weeks (so that she is not a preemie, reduces the risks of problems, and hopefully no NICU stay).

How Far Along: 34 weeks and 2 days

Due Date: 12/31/2016 New Year's Eve but c-section is scheduled for 12/28/16. So 5 weeks and 2 days until she is here!!!

Baby is the Size of: A pineapple! Baby should be measuring about 19-22" long and should weigh 4.9 lbs. Ha! At my ultrasound 2 week ago, she was weighing 6 lbs 1 oz. I can't wait to see what she is weighing at my next ultrasound in 2 weeks (my last ultrasound)!

Weight Gain: 32 lbs- yikes! A 4 lb weight gain…
