31 Week Bumpdate

The countdown is getting real! Exactly 2 months until my due date!!!

You guys, I officially received my first ignorant rude comment about how far along I look/ how big I am. We went to A.C. Moore Friday night to get some supplies for me to make a hair clip & headband organizer for Rory. The oldish cashier said I must be due any day now (or something like that) and I said I'm due New Year's Eve. Her draw dropped and she asked if I was having twins and then even interrupted another cashier to tell her to look at me and that I'm not due until New Year's Eve. Geez thanks lady...

How Far Along: 31 weeks and 2 days

Due Date: 12/31/2016 New Year's Eve!

Baby is the Size of: A coconut! Baby should be measuring about 18" long and should weigh 3.2 lbs but we already know she was weighing over 3 lbs 3 weeks ago.

Weight Gain: 25 lbs.

Symptoms: Nausea, headaches, sore sensitive boobs, moody, fatigue, sciatic nerve pain, calf cramps, back pain, fainting, and a little bit of heartburn. Still taking 1 morning sickness pill before bed.

Gender: Girl!

Name: Rory Brielle

Movement: Yes. She is usually pretty laid back but sometimes she will randomly be really active. Most of the time she stays in the same area but there's been a few times lately where she has been up high and pushing into my ribs- not fun for her mommy!

Nursery: We're going with a woodland/ woodland critters and floral theme. The nursery is still a little bit of a mess but it is coming together! I just need to finish organizing it and I'm waiting for THE crib sheet (she already has like 4-5 others but there is one that I want to be on her crib mattress first) to be delivered from Zulily before I can do any kind of nursery reveal.

Maternity Clothes: I'm wearing maternity jeans but on other days I'm still wearing my pre-pregnancy jeans unzippered with a belly band. I'm wearing maternity shirts but also still wearing my pre-pregnancy shirts (not all of them obviously lol). I'm hoping to not have to buy anymore maternity clothes other than one more pair of maternity leggings.

Sleep: Exhausted. I am barely functioning right now. I seriously don't know how I'm going to survive going to work the rest of this pregnancy. I am so tired and just want to be home laying down.

Best Moment(s) of the Week:
I had my 2 week prenatal appointment on Thursday and discussed with one of the OBGYNs about possibly having a scheduled c-section. Basically, he said yes and that I can schedule it at my 36 week appointment. They won't do c-sections before 39 weeks, which is completely fine. I'm really hoping he will able to do my c-section on the date I want but I don't want to spill the date and jinx it until it has been officially scheduled *Knock on Wood*

Friday night Jesse and I went to Olive Garden for dinner and I got to have my black tie mousse cake for dessert!

Jesse installed the baby monitor and put together the glider and ottoman. I have washed most of her stuff and have been working on organizing and putting things away.

Missing: Wine, wine coolers, margaritas, and GIN and TONICS.

Cravings & Aversions: Rice (and Chipotle- that's a given), brownies, cupcakes, cookies, fruit, and fresh veggies (mainly fresh raw green peppers), chocolate, Belgian waffles, s'mores, french toast, pumpkin spice lattes, soft serve vanilla and chocolate twist custard with chocolate sprinkles from Rita's, Wendy's (especially their spicy chicken sandwiches which I craved quite often in the first trimester) and Olive Garden's black tie mousse cake (which I got to have on Friday night!).

Aversions... Still the same. Grilled chicken (unless it is like overdone and crispyish), nuts, spinach & artichoke dip, and biscuits.

Mood: Very happy but getting very easily annoyed.

Looking Forward to: Working on Rory's nursery more, writing thank you cards (not and yea, I STILL haven't gotten around to this and now I can't remember where I put the gift tracker list, so I'm going to try to start writing down stuff from memory in hopes that I can remember enough to do thank you cards), ordering more stuff for Rory, and working on a DIY hairband/ bow/ hairclip holder for Rory.

Have a great week and Happy Halloween- I hope everyone has a safe one!!!

Wedding Wednesday

Geez is it really the last Wednesday of the month already?! Whoops! And I say "whoops" because we literally didn't get any wedding planning done this month. Like nothing off of my to-do list. We've been so busy, mainly with baby stuff, and I've been so freakin' exhausted. We do still have this weekend to try to get some wedding planning done though but that's just a we'll see type of thing. It is so overwhelming preparing for a baby and planning a wedding- not to mention taking care of three dogs and a house and working full time.

Since this post is going to be pretty boring and blank due to our lack of getting anything wedding related completed this month, let's review what we were supposed to get done this month and make some comments or changes...

  •    Finish calculating food & drink estimate. This is something I'd like to try to get done this weekend.
  •    Book wedding night/ wedding weekend hotel. Jesse says we should wait until next year to do this. I'm just going to let him win on that one and we'll book it next year. It's just going to be a hotel by my mom's house, so I don't think it'll be a huge problem to push it off until like February.
  •    Go to a local Florist and just get a quote on my bridal bouquet. I'm still debating on whether or not I'm going to do this or get my bouquet off of www.ecoflower.com
  •    Start creating a play list for the reception. I really don't see us getting this done this year. Maybe next month I can try to calculate how many songs we need to choose to last the reception. At least that would give us a place to start and we already have our first dance song picked out.
Sorry for the boring post y'all but I hope you have a quick work week and Happy Hump Day! Wish me luck at my prenatal appointment tomorrow!

30 Week Bumpdate

You guys!!! My due date is in less than 10 freakin' weeks!!!

How Far Along: 30 weeks and 2 days

Due Date: 12/31/2016 New Year's Eve!

Baby is the Size of: A butternut squash! Baby should be measuring about 17" long and should weigh 3.1 lbs but we already know she was weighing 3 lbs 3 oz 2 weeks ago lol.

Weight Gain: 24 lbs.

Symptoms: Nausea, headaches, sore sensitive boobs, moody, fatigue, sciatic nerve pain, calf cramps, and a little bit of heartburn. Still taking 1 morning sickness pill before bed.

Gender: Girl!

Name: Rory Brielle

Movement: Yes but this girl is pretty laid back. There were a few times this week where she was a little more active than usual. On Wednesday evening she started kicking, moving around, and stretching, so I told Jesse. He decided to lay his head down on my bump where she was and all of a sudden she either kicked or punched him in the ear! I was cracking up. And early this morning while Gary was leaning his head up against my bump, Rory rolled around underneath his head and made Gary jump a little lol.

Nursery: We're going with a woodland/ woodland critters and floral theme. I've been slowly working on the organizing and washing and putting away her clothes, blankets, etc. The glider and ottoman came but Jesse still needs to put that together and there are still some things I need to order that I'm going to start working on this week.

Maternity Clothes: I'm wearing maternity jeans but on other days I'm still wearing my pre-pregnancy jeans unzippered with a belly band. I'm wearing maternity shirts but also still wearing my pre-pregnancy shirts (not all of them obviously lol).

Sleep: Exhausted. I am barely functioning right now. I seriously don't know how I'm going to survive going to work the rest of this pregnancy. I am so tired and just want to be home laying down.

Best Moment(s) of the Week:
Working on the nursery (all of Rory's clothes have been washed and hung up or put away but I still have to finish those closet dividers) and going to my mom's house for family dinner on Sunday. She's starting this new thing. See, on the last weekend (or around the last weekend) of every month, she takes my nephew for the whole weekend. She will do the same with Rory and it will be the exact same weekend. On that Sunday, when my sister and brother in law come to pick up my nephew (and Jesse and I pick up Rory- ya know, after she has already been born), we're going to have an early family dinner and my younger sister and her man will come down from college to come to the family dinner too. It was really nice and I brought George and Gretta's Halloween costumes. I'll do a separate post with the dog Halloween costumes after I get pictures of my dogs and I get my mom to take a picture of Gretta in hers.

We brought Audrey and Vinny (my nephew) was so happy she was there. This was the first time Audrey has been to my mom's new house and the first time she met the goats! She loves them! They were making their little defense noises at her (we don't actually let the dogs in with the farm animals) and Audrey had her face right up against the fence near theirs just wiggling and wagging her little tail the whole time. It's so weird that she's scared of so many things but not Norwegian dwarf goats, miniature donkeys, or alpacas.

George is so handsome in his lumberjack costume. Vinny kept wanting to sit on Jesse's lap to hug Audrey lol. He was being so sweet to her.

Missing: Wine, wine coolers, margaritas, and gin and tonics.

Cravings & Aversions: Rice (and Chipotle- that's a given), brownies, cupcakes, cookies, fruit, and fresh veggies (mainly fresh raw green peppers), chocolate, Belgian waffles, s'mores, french toast, pumpkin spice lattes, soft serve vanilla and chocolate twist custard with chocolate sprinkles from Rita's and Olive Garden's black tie mousse cake.

Aversions... Still the same. Grilled chicken (unless it is like overdone and crispyish), nuts, spinach & artichoke dip, and biscuits.

Mood: Very happy but getting very easily annoyed.

Looking Forward to: Working on Rory's nursery more, writing thank you cards (not and yea, I STILL haven't gotten around to this and now I can't remember where I put the gift tracker list, so I'm going to try to start writing down stuff from memory in hopes that I can remember enough to do thank you cards), and going to my prenatal appointment on Thursday where I will meet with one of the OBGYNs and discuss the possibility of a scheduled c-section. Wish me luck! *Knock on Wood*

Have a great week!!!

Suicide Awareness

Promoting suicide awareness and prevention is extremely important to me. Too many people commit suicide whether it is from being bullied, mental illness, PTSD (which can also be classified as a mental illness), substance abuse, alcoholism, or for whatever reason. Suicide is very real and we need to work together to recognize the signs and try and prevent it.

This past weekend (one week ago today) one of my cousins committed suicide. I was not close to him but still, he was is blood, he was is family. And whether I know the person personally or not, I don't wish suicide on anyone.

I'm not going to discuss specific details as no one truly knows the exact reason for committing suicide other than the person themselves and out of respect for my cousin. I am, however, going to end this post with the warning signs and risk factors of suicide according to American Foundation for Suicide Prevention:

  •    The person talks about being a burden to others, feeling trapped, experiencing unbearable pain, having no reason to live, and/ or killing themselves.
  •    Behavior such as increased use of alcohol or drugs, looking for a way to kill themselves (such as searching online for materials or means), acting recklessly, withdrawing from activities, isolating from family and friends, sleeping too much or too little, visiting or calling people to say goodbye, giving away prized possessions, and/ or aggression.
  •    The person displays depression, loss of interest, rage, irritability, humiliation, and/ or anxiety.

  •    Mental health conditions such as Depression, Bipolar (manic-depressive) disorder, Schizophrenia, Borderline or antisocial personality disorder, Conduct disorder, Psychotic disorders (or psychotic symptoms in the context of any disorder), and/ or Anxiety disorders.
  •    Substance abuse disorders.
  •    Serious or chronic health condition and/ or pain.
  •    Stressful life events which may include a death, divorce, or job loss.
  •    Prolonged stress factors which may include harassment, bullying, relationship problems, and unemployment.
  •    Access to lethal means including firearms and drugs.
  •    Exposure to another person's suicide, or to graphic or sensationalized accounts of suicide.
  •    Previous suicide attempts.
  •    Family history of suicide attempts.

And as always, if you or anyone you know may be thinking about suicide, please call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255.

   Have a great weekend y'all!

29 Week Bumpdate

Is it really Monday??? I am so freakin' tired I seriously debated staying home to sleep. I ended up getting to Dunkin' Donuts before they opened and ended up napping in their parking lot while waiting for them to open. And of course the person who made my iced latte (I limit myself to one three times per week) is the person who doesn't understand how to make a latte (it's not that hard!) and so there is barely any espresso in my latte at all (like I can't even taste it) and therefore, I don't even feel the slightest bit energized. Ok, ok, let me stop my complaining and get on with my bumpdate.

How Far Along: 29 weeks and 2 days

Due Date: 12/31/2016 New Year's Eve!

Baby is the Size of: A small cabbage! Baby should be measuring 17" long and should weigh 2.9 lbs but we already know she was weighing well over that exactly one week ago.

Weight Gain: 22 lbs. Yay! A week without any weight gain (or at least if I did gain any weight, it was under a pound). This was a relief after having a few weeks where I gained 2-3 lbs a week. I read that at this point sometimes weight gain stops or slows down but of course everyone is different and for some it speeds up. So we shall see.

Symptoms: Nausea, headaches, sore sensitive boobs, moody, fatigue, sciatic nerve pain, calf cramps, and a little bit of heartburn. Still taking 1 morning sickness pill before bed. I'm still experiencing excruciating back pain.

Gender: Girl!

Name: Rory Brielle

Movement: Yes but this girl is pretty laid back.

Nursery: We're going with a woodland/ woodland critters and floral theme. The nursery is a bit of a mess right now with tons of baby crap that needs to be organized and because I keep ordering more baby stuff, the boxes just keep on rolling in. We need get some more stuff put together this past weekend and got it a little more organized but there's still a lot to do and more to order.

Best Moment(s) of the Week:
Putting together more baby stuff and ordering tons of baby stuff. Boxes and boxes keep piling up at our door which I kind of love because who doesn't get excited to open up boxes of goodies?! Jesse would seriously have a heart attack if he knew how much I've been spending but it's not like we have much of a choice- babies need stuff! While the amount I'm spending isn't much fun, it is fun shopping around, placing orders, and receiving them.

And I passed my glucose test!!! No gestational diabetes for this mommy-to-be (and I'm also not anemic either)! I'm so thankful and grateful I don't have it. Bring on the Rita's custard!

We made loaded mashed potato casserole last night for the first time (recipe from Pinterest of course) and it was AMAZING! We halved the recipe (but added a little more butter, milk, bacon and cheddar cheese than called for) and still have leftovers for tonight. I highly recommend this recipe.
As you can see from the fork marks in the mashed potatoes, I couldn't wait long enough to take a picture before taking a bite or two.

Looking Forward to: Working on Rory's nursery, writing thank you cards (not and yea, I STILL haven't gotten around to this and now I can't remember where I put the gift tracker list, so I'm going to try to start writing down stuff from memory in hopes that I can remember enough to do thank you cards), and going to my mom's for dinner on Sunday.

Have a great week!!!

28 Week Bumpdate

Ugh I think the pregnancy insomnia is happening and I definitely regret eating a bunch of m&ms right now because now I feel nauseous but enough of me complaining. Let's get onto this late bumpdate.

How Far Along: 28 weeks and 3 days

Due Date: 12/31/2016 New Year's Eve!

Baby is the Size of: A Head of Cauliflower! Baby is measuring 16" long and should weigh 2.5 lbs. At my ultrasound yesterday, they said she is already weighing 3 lbs 3 oz and is in the 88th percentile! And if she keeps growing at the same rate, she will be an 8 1/2 lb baby!

Weight Gain: 22 lbs.

Symptoms: Nausea, headaches, sore sensitive boobs, bloating, moody, fatigue, lightening crotch, sciatic nerve pain, calf cramps, round ligament pain, and a little bit of heartburn. Still taking 1 morning sickness pill before bed. I'm still experiencing excruciating back pain and it gets worse everyday. There has only been one day when I didn't get it. Thursday evening I seriously started thinking I could possibly be going into labor because the pain was that bad, I also had pain in my lower abdomen, and the pain was so bad that I was yelling and Jesse was of course at physical therapy. The pain eventually ended up going away but it took much longer this time. But since it went away, I didn't go to the hospital. I brought it up at my prenatal appointment yesterday and my appointment with the high risk specialist yesterday. They said just keep icing my back and lay down and rest when it happens.

Gender: Girl!

Name: Rory Brielle

Movement: Yes but this girl is pretty laid back.

Nursery: We're going with a woodland/ woodland critters and floral theme. The nursery is painted, the curtain rod and curtains are hung up, crib is put together, and some wall art has been put up. We finally got her gallery wall finished and put up!

Best Moment(s) of the Week:
Putting together some baby gear and seeing our little girl at my ultrasound! She is already super sassy. When the tech kept moving the ultrasound wand or whatever it is called, Rory let her know that she was not having it and gave it a big kick making the wand and the tech's hand jump. And she's already practicing her heel stretches for when she becomes a dancer. She started out the ultrasound with one of her legs and feet up at her forehead.

*Side Note: This wasn't a best moment of the week but for all you ladies who haven't had the glucose test yet to test for gestational diabetes, you have been warned. The drink is DISGUSTING. I got the lemon lime flavor and struggled to drink it the entire time. It was so hard not throwing it back up but thankfully I was able to keep it down b/c if you throw it up, it's an automatic fail and you have to go back for the 3 hour test.

Missing: Wine, wine coolers, margaritas, and gin and tonics.

Cravings & Aversions: Rice (and Chipotle- that's a given), brownies, cupcakes, cookies, fruit, and fresh veggies (mainly fresh raw green peppers), chocolate, Belgian waffles, s'mores, french toast, Fritos and Olive Garden's black tie mousse cake.

Aversions... Still the same. Grilled chicken (unless it is like overdone and crispyish), nuts, spinach & artichoke dip, and biscuits.

Mood: Very happy but getting very easily annoyed.

Looking Forward to: Working on Rory's nursery, writing thank you cards (not and yea, I STILL haven't gotten around to this), and ordering more stuff for Rory. Aaand getting the results of my glucose test hopefully today *Knock on Wood*.

Have a great week!!!

I figured I'd switch things up now that I'm in the third trimester and just do the third trimester photos down here.

Baby Shower

Sooo I had hoped I would've had this post up already and I had thought I'd have at least started it last week but that didn't happen. I am seriously so exhausted and this pregnancy brain shiz is real. So I'm just going to give you all a little photo dump from my baby shower. We didn't get pictures of everything but hey, some pictures are better than none!

Jesse and I before he went off to the casino to lose some money with the guys.

This picture won't turn correctly, oh well. This was the cake for everyone else and I really wish I would've eaten a piece.

My special little mermaid cake just for me.

Guess how many candy corn are in the baby bottle. I won lol. I think it was 514.

My mom and her mom as I read Desi's card.

Desi and I after I read the most beautiful heartfelt card from her and we decided to be sisters and not stepsisters :)

The cutest nephew in the world and his gift he gave me just from him!

And knowing me, my daughter has to have a tutu dress b/c she is getting put in dance classes ASAP!

My mom reading off the answers to the word scramble which I also won. Ok, so I won all of the games (I'm a little competitive) but I didn't accept any of the prizes. I picked a number between 1-100, a number between 1-50 or we might have changed it to 1-10, and then a zoo animal so that my guests could win prizes instead.

My sister Desi, my aunt, and one of my cousins and I while we did the baby word scramble. Somehow we didn't get any pictures of me and my sister Jen but then again she was the one taking the pictures.

I hope y'all enjoyed some of the pictures from my baby shower! I have made my list (minus more clothes) of remaining baby stuff we still have to get and started ordering some yesterday. It's crazy how much babies need and how much it all adds up to but hey, it's life! Have a great weekend everyone!

Wedding Wednesday

Yup, it's Wedding Wednesday again and the first full week of October! I didn't get everything accomplished that I wanted to last month, so that's going to roll on over to this month's to-do list. Other than that, I'm just going to add three possible maybes but I'm not sure I'm going to get to them or even do them.

  •    Finish calculating food & drink estimate.
  •    Book wedding night/ weekend hotel.
  •    Go to a local Florist and just get a quote on my bridal bouquet. I might do this, I might make my bouquet, or I might order it off of www.ecoflower.com
Here is some of my bridal bouquet insp from my Pinterest board:

  •    Start creating a play list for the reception- I highly doubt we'll actually start that unless you count writing down 1 song as starting it.
I think we're going to be focusing a lot on baby stuff this month but I definitely need to keep making lists and revisiting my lists to make sure we get all the wedding crap (and other crap) done that needs to be done before Rory is here and get the stuff that needs to get done after she is born done because it is going to be one hell of a tiring chaotic crazy next 8 months. And I just realized Monday marked 8 months until our wedding- eek!!!

Happy Hump Day! And I'm getting Chipotle today for lunch- Yes!!!

27 Week Bumpdate

Guess what?!?! I'm in my third trimester!!! Ok, some people don't consider the third trimester starting until 28 weeks but I'm one of the people who says it starts at/ around 27 weeks. Woohoo last trimester! But that also means that I'll be more uncomfrotable and our little girl will be here in less than 13 weeks! Ahh!

How Far Along: 27 weeks and 2 days

Due Date: 12/31/2016 New Year's Eve!

Baby is the Size of: A Cucumber (or a fennec fox or a camping lantern)! Baby is measuring 15" long.

Weight Gain: 19 lbs.

Symptoms: Nausea, headaches, sore sensitive boobs, bloating, moody, fatigue, lightening crotch, sciatic nerve pain, calf cramps, round ligament pain, and a little bit of heartburn. Still taking 1 morning sickness pill before bed. One day at work I had a sudden sharp pain in my lower back and it was excruciating but went away within 10 minutes. Then like two days later in the middle of the night, I started having excruciating lower back pain. Like the worst pain I have ever felt in my life. After trying a few things and not being able to find relief, I asked Jesse to get his heating pad and soon after having the heating pad on my back, I was back to sleeping. I've had it happen a few more times since then but the pain also sometimes radiates to my sides and front/ pelvis area. My mom suggested using an ice pack rather than a heating pad, so that's what I've been doing when the pain happens. I'm going to mention this to my doctor at my next appointment in one week.

Gender: Girl!

Name: Rory Brielle

Movement: Yes! I usually feel her at least once a day but it definitely isn't that noticeable if I'm really busy. I usually feel her when I'm laying down. And Jesse finally felt her kick! It was a soft kick but still and then again, she doesn't kick very hard anyways.

Nursery: We're going with a woodland/ woodland critters and floral theme. The nursery is painted, the curtain rod and curtains are hung up, crib is put together, and some wall art has been put up. After I do the baby shower card heart cut out display, we can finally put her gallery wall up.

Maternity Clothes: I'm wearing the maternity jeans but on other days I'm still wearing my pre-pregnancy jeans unzippered with a belly band. I'm wearing maternity shirts but also still wearing my pre-pregnancy shirts (not all of them obviously lol).

Sleep: Exhausted. I am barely functioning right now.

Best Moment(s) of the Week:
Not much really happened but we did get some cooler weather towards the end of the week which I loved! Sunday we FINALLY made a more thorough list of what we got from the baby shower to determine what we still need to get. I didn't make the list as thorough and organized as I would have liked but soon into making the list, I got very tired. Oh well, I have somewhat of an idea of what we still need but I think I need to go through the clothes again.

Missing: Wine, wine coolers, margaritas, and gin and tonics.

Cravings & Aversions: Rice (and Chipotle- that's a given), brownies, cupcakes, cookies, fruit, and fresh veggies (mainly fresh raw green peppers), chocolate, Belgian waffles, s'mores, french toast, and Olive Garden's black tie mousse cake. I'd be very surprised if Rory doesn't end up having a big sweet tooth like her mommy.

Aversions... Still the same. Grilled chicken (unless it is like overdone and crispyish), nuts, spinach & artichoke dip, and biscuits.

Mood: Very happy but getting very easily annoyed.

Looking Forward to: Working on Rory's nursery, writing thank you cards (not and yea, I still haven't gotten around to this), and working on analyzing my list of things I put on my registry, what I actually received, and what we still need to buy. That last part might not sound that much fun but I love spreadsheets! And I have a prenatal appointment (and the gestational diabetes test) and an ultrasound with the high risk specialist in one week.

Have a great week!!!
