35 Week Bumpdate

Ugh, Mondays after a long weekend are the worst and I seriously contemplated staying home today.

How Far Along: 35 weeks and 2 days

Due Date: 12/31/2016 New Year's Eve but c-section is scheduled for 12/28/16. So 4 weeks and 2 days until she is here!!!

Baby is the Size of: A canary melon! Baby should be measuring about 19-22" long and should weigh 5.5 lbs. Ha! At my ultrasound 3 weeks ago, she was weighing 6 lbs 1 oz. I can't wait to see what she is weighing at my next ultrasound in 1 week (my last ultrasound)!

Weight Gain: 33-34 lbs. Yup, I'm just going to have to accept this weight gain. I'm at the point where I do not care anymore (kind of) and just want to eat whatever will make me feel better.

Symptoms: Nausea, headaches, sensitive boobs, moody, fatigue, sciatic nerve pain, calf cramps, back pain, fainting, heartburn, hip pain, acid reflux, and braxton hicks (I think). I've had to start taking 2 Diclegis pills a day for morning sickness. I have just been feeling so sick and nauseous lately and like total crap. I'm so over this and so ready (but not ready) for Rory to be out of me.

Gender: Girl!

Name: Rory Brielle

Movement: Yes and she has actually been a little more active since my last non stress test. I think she's trying to let me know she's ok in there and to stop all of these dumb non stress tests. No can do little girl. As annoying as they are, they are for the best.

Engagement Ring On or Off: On but sometimes in the morning, it'll be a little difficult to get it on or I can't get it back off but if I hold an ice pack, run my hand under cold water, or wait a few hours, it's all back to normal.

Bellybutton In or Out: Still technically in but definitely looks like it's making it's way on being an outie which I would totally not like b/c it creeps me out for some reason.

Signs of Labor: Just the fact that she has dropped and the OB I saw last thinks I'm experiencing braxton hicks but I have no idea being a first time mom. But those aren't necessarily labor signs or signs that labor is in the very near future. I'm also thinking I might have had a contraction once or twice but again, I have no idea and it's nothing to worry about or a sign of anything anyways.

Nursery: We're going with a woodland/ woodland critters and floral theme. The nursery is almost finished! I just need to get a few things organized, Jesse needs to stain her growth chart, and then it should be ready for the reveal. I'm hoping to get the reveal out next week, so be on the lookout for that post!

Maternity Clothes: I'm wearing maternity jeans but on other days I'm still wearing some of my pre-pregnancy jeans unzippered with a belly band. I'm wearing maternity shirts but also still wearing my pre-pregnancy shirts (not all of them obviously lol). And I've been wearing my maternity winter coat that is too big.

Sleep: Exhausted. I just want to be home laying down. I'm tossing and turning throughout the night.

Best Moment(s) of the Week:

-This isn't a "best moment" at all really but I had my second non stress test on Monday. I got there early but of course had to wait forever. They finally hooked me up and I listened to Rory's heartbeat while waiting to see if she was going to move. She didn't, but that isn't a surprise. So I requested some water. Chugged a bunch and she moved once. I kept drinking and waiting and drinking and waiting and no movements but her heartbeat was still going. The OBGYN took a look at my test and said that she was only reactive once and they look for 2 (or at least 2?) reactions or whatever. So my test was considered nonreactive and she said not to worry but I needed to have a biophysical profile (BPP) ultrasound done.

They were booked for ultrasounds, so they sent me to the hospital next door to triage where they hooked me up to do another non stress test and gave me cold ice water and cold apple juice. This little stubborn girl decided she wanted to move around and was reactive aaand she kept pushing on my full bladder. They kept me hooked up for like an hour. I was so miserable and my phone was dying (and of course my charger was in the car). I didn't tell Jesse to come because I asked how long they thought I'd be there for and they had said I'd only be there for maybe an hour (yea right) and I didn't exactly know what was going on. I kept him informed but was also aware my phone could die any second. He told my mom what was going on and she ended up calling the hospital after I had been there for a hour. The nurse told me (and my mom when she called) that my baby looked beautiful (according to the non stress test, obviously without an ultrasound they couldn't physically see her) and that she didn't see the need for a BPP. If I still wanted a BPP, I would have to wait another 3-4 hours because they only had 1 ultrasound tech and there were like 3 people ahead of me that were considered "priority". I told them I just wanted to go home. When you just want to go home and your bladder is extremely full and have a baby pushing on it, you get very impatient. As I waited, I decided to go out of my room and ask if they were getting the papers ready (which they were in the process of) and then asked where the hell the bathroom was b/c my bladder was about to explode.

All in all, she's fine. She was probably just sleeping during the first non stress test and/ or being her stubborn little sassy self.

-Thanksgiving! Even though I felt like total crap and I didn't get any pictures of me, my bump, or Jesse and I together.

-Getting our gate redone. Finally! Our front gate is fixed!

-Bought Rory's Christmas gift! And I didn't take a picture of course. It's a snowglobe from Things Remembered and it has "Rory's 1st snowglobe 2016" engraved on it.

-Gilmore Girls on Netflix! I watched tit on Friday. Jesse came home right at the end of the last episode to me yelling at the t.v. That ending was such a cliffhanger and I NEED to know what's next!!! They need to come out with season 2 pronto.

-Bad Moms. We finally watched Bad Moms and it did not disappoint at all! I loved it!

Missing: Wine, wine coolers, margaritas, and GIN and TONICS.

Cravings & Aversions: Rice (and Chipotle- that's a given), brownies, cupcakes, cookies, fruit, and fresh veggies (mainly fresh raw green peppers), chocolate, Belgian waffles, s'mores, french toast, soft serve vanilla and chocolate twist custard, Wendy's (especially their spicy chicken sandwiches which I craved quite often in the first trimester), McDonald's french fries, Five Guys' french fries and Olive Garden's black tie mousse cake.

Aversions... Still the same. Grilled chicken (unless it is like overdone and crispyish), nuts, spinach & artichoke dip, tortillas, and biscuits.

Mood: Very happy but getting very easily annoyed.

Looking Forward to:
-My non stress test on Thursday. Ok, I'm not really looking forward to this because they take forever to bring me back there and my daughter is stubborn during these and makes them take longer than they should. Hoping this test goes better than the last one.
-Working on packing the hospital bags tonight. Still haven't finished this but I'm hoping to get everything that we can get packed now packed tonight.
-Get the cars cleaned out and the car seat bases installed in both of our cars. I like things to be done so far in advance that I am freaking out because there is so much that I wanted done already that we haven't done.

Thankful...

In the spirit of Thanksgiving being tomorrow, I thought I'd do a short, sweet, and simple little post on some things I am thankful for...

1. Rory Brielle- Although she is not here yet, I am so thankful that she is my daughter and I am blessed to be the one she will call "mom".

I am also thankful that she is ok after Monday's scare. Ok, I wasn't that scared because I know my daughter but I was scared a tiny bit and she sure scared her daddy and her nonna. I went in for my annoying weekly non stress test. My test results came back as nonreactive and I had to be sent to triage at the hospital next door for another non stress test. All in all, she's fine. She was probably just sleeping during the first non stress test and/ or being her stubborn little sassy self. I'll give more details on this scare in my 35 week bumpdate on Monday.

2. Tigger, Audrey, and Gary- I love my fur babies (yes, even Gary) more than anything in the world and am so thankful to be their fur momma! They keep me on my toes, provide me with tons of kissies and snuggles, and keep me going everyday. I can't wait to see how they are with Rory and I know she will have such a strong bond with them.

3. Jesse- I never thought I'd find "the one" and yet I did! I am so in love with this man. I can't wait to see him be a father to our little girl and I can't wait to become his wife next year.

4. My Mom- I've said this before and I'll say it again, I do not know where I'd be today if it wasn't for my mom. She has helped me become the woman that I am and I don't know what I'd do without her.

5. My Younger Sister, Jen- I'd say throughout most of our lives, we haven't gotten along but it has gotten a lot better and I love her to death. I know that I can 100% be my goofy self around her without any negative judgement and she will act just as equally goofy. We share a very unique weird sisterly bond and I know she is going to be an amazing aunt to Rory- so amazing that Rory is probably going to want to go hang out with fun auntie Jen all the time and think I'm a lame mean mom lol.

6. My Family- I'm going to wrap the rest of my family into one. Whether we have been family my entire life, became family through marriage, or whatever the reason, I am so thankful for my family. Family is everything and I can't wait for this new family experience once Rory arrives. Rory is already surrounded by so much love from near and far and I will be forever grateful for that.

Now let's get through this work day and have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving tomorrow everyone!!!

The Perfect Side

With it being deer season and all, Jesse got his hunting trip done and out of the way before baby Rory makes her appearance. A few weekends ago, he went hunting down on my grandmom's property in VA with some of my uncles and cousins. So we've been eating some yummy delicious venison on the weekends (the dogs too- they LOVE it!) lately.

Deer meat isn't for everyone but I was brought up eating it and absolutely love it. Every time Jesse has been cooking us deer meat, he has been letting it marinate in Olive Garden's Italian dressing and it is so freaking good that way. But what is a good piece of meat without a mouthwatering side?

I was so happy when I read Alexis' Friday post on her blog, Chemistry Cachet. Besides getting to see a cute picture of her adorabull bulldog, she also had a recipe for Balsamic Honey Roasted Brussels Sprouts! I had never liked tried brussels sprouts until I met Jesse but once I tried them, I loved them and anyone who knows me knows that I love anything and everything with balsamic. So I figured we'd give this recipe a try on Sunday. It was an absolute hit! And it was so easy to make. Plus, we already had all of the ingredients at home except for the brussels sprouts.

Just looking at them makes me want them right now! Yes, my pregnant self wants brussels sprouts at breakfast time. But I'm not at home, so I guess I'll just be dreaming of these delicious sprouts all day or at least until another craving hits me.

I definitely recommend hopping on over to Alexis' blog and reading Friday Favorites - Thanksgiving and Black Friday Ideas for the recipe!

We just have to get through today and tomorrow and then hello Thanksgiving and four day weekend! Hang in there!

34 Week Bumpdate

I feel bad saying this sometimes but I'm forreal over this pregnancy. I am not one of those ladies that has had a smooth easy pregnancy and just absolutely loves being pregnant. And don't think for a minute that I wish I had never gotten pregnant because that's 100% false. And although I wish she'd be here already to put me out of this discomfort and misery, I really am hoping she stays put until at least 37 weeks (so that she is not a preemie, reduces the risks of problems, and hopefully no NICU stay).

How Far Along: 34 weeks and 2 days

Due Date: 12/31/2016 New Year's Eve but c-section is scheduled for 12/28/16. So 5 weeks and 2 days until she is here!!!

Baby is the Size of: A pineapple! Baby should be measuring about 19-22" long and should weigh 4.9 lbs. Ha! At my ultrasound 2 week ago, she was weighing 6 lbs 1 oz. I can't wait to see what she is weighing at my next ultrasound in 2 weeks (my last ultrasound)!

Weight Gain: 32 lbs- yikes! A 4 lb weight gain this past week. Looks like I may just have to accept that I'm going to probably go over a 35 lb weight gain. I have been feeling so freaking hungry but then I can barely fit anything in my stomach because there is like no room in there for my stomach to expand and then I end up feeling sick shortly after. I feel like I can't get any bigger and our daughter is squishing all of my organs- not fun!

Symptoms: Nausea, headaches, sensitive boobs, moody, fatigue, sciatic nerve pain, calf cramps, back pain, fainting, heartburn, hip pain, acid reflux, and braxton hicks (I think). Still taking 1 morning sickness pill before bed.

This past week I have not felt good at all. Nausea, belly/ bump pain, heartburn, acid reflux, back pain spanning my entire back, etc. The doctor told me to take Zantac everyday for the heartburn and acid reflux, so I'm doing that now but I still don't feel great. I even had to take an extra Diclegis pill on Saturday and Sunday. Hoping I feel better soon.

Gender: Girl!

Name: Rory Brielle

Movement: Yes. She has been a little more laid back lately but that's also more common around this time b/c she's running out of room.

Nursery: We're going with a woodland/ woodland critters and floral theme. The nursery is almost finished! I just need to get a few things organized and then it should be ready for the reveal.
Finally got around to getting Jesse to hang up the hair accessory organizer I made. Still have a few clips to add and waiting for 3 more headbands to be delivered!

LOVE this blanket my cousin made for Rory. It's all folded up in these pictures- it's actually quite huge and she could very well use it even when she is an adult. It has the same quote as one of the wall art pieces in her gallery wall, "In a field of roses she is a wildflower".

And THE crib sheet I ordered from Zulily finally came!

Maternity Clothes: I'm wearing maternity jeans but on other days I'm still wearing some of my pre-pregnancy jeans unzippered with a belly band. I'm wearing maternity shirts but also still wearing my pre-pregnancy shirts (not all of them obviously lol). It is so cold and windy out this morning and so I finally put on my winter maternity coat I had ordered online months ago from H&M while it was on sale. It is still really big but hey, I rather it be too big than too small!

Sleep: Exhausted. I just want to be home laying down. I'm tossing and turning throughout the night.

Best Moment(s) of the Week:

-These baby moccasins were finally delivered from Zulily! The leatherish blue ones are size 0-6 months and the suedish berry ones are 6-12 months. I can't wait to put these on her when they fit even though I know she will most likely kick them off.

-Had my first non stress test on Thursday and it was annoying. They said usually you are hooked up to the monitor for no more than 20 minutes. You just have to press a button every time you feel baby move and should get 10 movements. This girl is stubborn and not very active, so I accepted the offer of cold ice water immediately to see if that would get her going- nope. Then 20 minutes passed and I had only felt like 2 movements. So they offered me apple juice, which I also accepted. I finally got 10 movements (a few might have been made up just to get me out of there) but it took like 40-45 minutes. Our daughter is just very stubborn and moves when SHE wants to.

-Got my hair trimmed and dyed! Last hair dye and trim before Rory is here! And we went to my mom's Saturday night for dinner and I got to see my sister since she came home for Thanksgiving break!

-This isn't a "best moment" but we decided to get all of our errands done Friday night because we had some extra errands and there just wouldn't be time Saturday or Sunday. So there was a little extra walking. I felt so much pelvic pressure and I was so uncomfortable, I seriously felt like Rory was just going to fall out lol but I've read that feeling is completely normal.

Missing: Wine, wine coolers, margaritas, and GIN and TONICS.

Cravings & Aversions: Rice (and Chipotle- that's a given), brownies, cupcakes, cookies, fruit, and fresh veggies (mainly fresh raw green peppers), chocolate, Belgian waffles, s'mores, french toast, pumpkin spice lattes, soft serve vanilla and chocolate twist custard, Wendy's (especially their spicy chicken sandwiches which I craved quite often in the first trimester), McDonald's french fries, Five Guys' french fries and Olive Garden's black tie mousse cake.

Aversions... Still the same. Grilled chicken (unless it is like overdone and crispyish), nuts, spinach & artichoke dip, tortillas, and biscuits.

Mood: Very happy but getting very easily annoyed.

Looking Forward to:
-My non stress test today. Even though Rory moves when she wants to, I bought a few bags of sour gummy worms for the non stress tests over the next few weeks that I plan to eat right before every test in hopes that she'll move and I won't have to stay there hooked up for more than 20 minutes.

   -Thanksgiving!

33 Week Bumpdate

Ugh, it feels like these work weeks are dragging and the weekends are going by waaay too fast. I've been having horrible all over back pain that started last night while I was sleeping. I'm hoping to feel better soon and to be able to survive the work day today.

How Far Along: 33 weeks and 2 days

Due Date: 12/31/2016 New Year's Eve but c-section is scheduled for 12/28/16. 3 days before my due date! I was born via emergency c-section 3 days before I was due. So if she actually waits until 12/28/16 to be born, that will be something special we share :).

Baby is the Size of: A honeydew melon! Baby should be measuring about 19" long and should weigh 4.5 lbs. Ha! At my ultrasound 1 week ago, she was weighing 6 lbs 1 oz and in the 95th percentile (I think they said 95th, maybe it was higher, eh I'll just go with 95th). She's HUGE!!! I seriously feel like she is running out of room and that my skin can't stretch anymore.

Weight Gain: 28 lbs- yes! No weight gain/ less than 1 lb of weight gain this past week. So happy that it wasn't another 3 lb weight gain week. I have been feeling so freaking hungry.

Symptoms: Nausea, headaches, sore sensitive boobs, moody, fatigue, sciatic nerve pain, calf cramps, back pain, fainting, heartburn, hip pain. Still taking 1 morning sickness pill before bed.

Gender: Girl!

Name: Rory Brielle

Movement: Yes. She has been a little more laid back lately but that's also more common around this time b/c she's running out of room.

Engagement Ring On or Off: On but the other morning I could not get my ring on. Jesse had me hold an ice pack for a while and then try to put it on and it worked.

Bellybutton In or Out: Still technically in but definitely looks like it's making it's way on being an outie which I would totally not like b/c it creeps me out for some reason.

Signs of Labor: No but she is dropping or has dropped as of a week ago/ last week. Which means she is preparing for it, so if you want to consider that a sign of labor, then go for it. So much pressure on my bladder and pelvis.

Nursery: We're going with a woodland/ woodland critters and floral theme. The nursery is still a little bit of a mess but it is coming together. I just need to finish organizing it and I'm waiting for THE crib sheet (she already has like 4-5 others but there is one that I want to be on her crib mattress first) to be delivered from Zulily before I can do any kind of nursery reveal.

I forgot to post these in last week's bumpdate. I made Rory this DIY hairband/ hair clip/ hair bow organizer. Just waiting for Jesse to hang it up so that I can put all of her hair accessories on it. And I made the cute little hair clips below too. My aunt put these cute little sticky felt flowers on some of the packages full of clothes she got me at my baby shower. I thought they were so freakin' cute and decided to save them so that I could hot glue them to hair clips for Rory. I love how they turned out!

Maternity Clothes: I'm wearing maternity jeans but on other days I'm still wearing some of my pre-pregnancy jeans unzippered with a belly band. I'm wearing maternity shirts but also still wearing my pre-pregnancy shirts (not all of them obviously lol). And I finally bought some high waisted panties which feel so much more comfortable on my bump and keeping my jeans from rubbing against my bump.

Sleep: Exhausted. I just want to be home laying down. I'm tossing and turning throughout the night and keep ending up on my back, which is not good for the baby. Luckily Jesse is usually awake when I turn to lay on my back and he'll wake me up to tell me to turn to my side.

Best Moment(s) of the Week:
    -Getting my c-section date!

-Ultrasound on Monday. This stubborn girl would not put her hands and arms down so that we could get a good look at her face but then again, I had a tech this time that I've never had. She was a bit pushy and rushing the ultrasound and acted like she didn't want me to talk to the Doctor afterwards- she got her way b/c the Doctor didn't come in to talk to me. Whatever, still got to see our little girl and found out she is even bigger weighing in at 6 lbs 1 oz. I had a gut feeling they were going to say 6 lbs but didn't want to believe it. She's a beast.
This was the best picture the tech could get while her arms were down for a second.

-Going to my cousin's baby shower on Saturday. It was fun celebrating my cousin, her pregnancy, and baby Zoey (Rory will have a girl in the family to play with that will be less than 2 months younger than her!). And I wrote a few Thank You cards the day before the baby shower to hand out to my family that was at my baby shower so that I didn't have to waste a stamp and b/c my shower was over a month ago (and I forgot to hand out some of them).

Looking Forward to: My first non stress test on Thursday. I was supposed to have one last week but they were running super behind. I waited there for an hour before I got taken back for my vitals and b/c it was so late, no one was available, and I wanted to go home, they said they were going to skip it. They also informed me that the high risk specialist told them I need to come in every single week for non stress tests. It's a bit annoying to have to go every single week on top of all of my other Doctor's appointments but it is best to make sure baby Rory is doing good and know ahead of time if something is going wrong. So I'm thankful for that.

Baby Items We Passed On

Being a first time mom can be overwhelming, especially when it comes to baby products and what you need to buy for your little one. I've spent countless hours (ok, if you probably added up all of the hours I've spent, it would probably be weeks or a month) researching this shit and looking on Pinterest. And there are plenty of baby products out there that you do not need or can pass on, but that's totally up to you. I figured I'd share with you some of the things we passed on.

  1. Owlet Monitor- I sooo wanted this but it was just too pricey and out of budget for us and no one got me one at my baby shower. Plus, I've read that babies (or at least some) don't like things like booties on their feet and would keep kicking the owlet booty off, which then makes it useless and a waste of money.
  2. Changing Table- Rory's room is small, but it's not like she needs a huge room anyway- especially since we plan to move in like 3 years. So I thought a corner changing table would be perfect. Eventually, we decided to nix the changing table altogether and I'm so glad we did because we wouldn't need it anymore once she outgrew it and she really didn't have enough room in her room for one anyways. We bought a changing pad and changing pad covers and will place her on that on the floor for diaper changes. Another smart move is if you are already planning on buying baby a dresser, put the changing pad on top of the dresser.
  3. Wipe Warmers- I've heard these are a total waste. They dry out wipes and it gets baby too used to having warm wipes that they cry and flip out when you have to actually use a cold wipe on their bottom (like say if you are out in public and need to do a diaper change?).
  4. Baby Carrier- I'm still going back and forth in my head on this one. As of right now we have passed on it because I'm only taking 8 weeks maternity leave (if I still get my c-section, otherwise it's 6 weeks). So after that, I return to work and Rory will be at daycare all day. I'd say I think these are more useful and worth the money if you are a stay at home mom, work from home, or are taking your baby to work. But I might end up getting a cheap one because it would be nice to be able to be holding Rory hands free while feeding the dogs, taking the dogs potty in the yard, doing dishes or laundry or what not while I am on leave and when I am home from work and on the weekends.
  5. Diaper Pail- Some people say it is a must have because it hides the odor and some people say you can just use a regular trash can. I think this one all depends on how many times you plan to actually empty the trash can if you are going that route. See, I have to clean the dog room every day or at least every day that we have to go somewhere (whether that be an errand or work) because my dogs have issues. So I end up cleaning up whatever mess they (or one of them) made and put it in a grocery bag and put it outside. We figured if I'm already cleaning up messes and taking them out everyday, why can't I just do that with the baby too? And not to mention we have an amazing garbage/ trash service on our street that actually comes to pick up trash twice a week and lets you put up to 6 big trash bags of garbage each time.
  6. All of the Cute Clothes- Baby clothes are so freakin' cute but babies need so many because they grow out of them so quickly! You could easily end up spending way too much on baby clothes, especially if your baby skips a size or grows out of a size so quickly that they didn't get to wear half of the outfits you had bought for them in that size. I had sooo many cute baby clothes pinned that I was set on buying for sure but then I got to realistically thinking. So I'm going to wait at least until she is 1 before I start really buying her tons of cute outfits (like the ones that are a little more pricey or that I'd like to see her wearing for more than a few weeks or few months). But don't get me wrong, Rory has tons of cute outfits, I'm just not going to go overboard.
Hope this helps! What are some baby items you passed on?

We just have to get through today and tomorrow and then it's the weeeeeeekend!!!

32 Week Bumpdate

Sooo if you consider a month having 4 weeks, I'm 8 months pregnant!!!

How Far Along: 32 weeks and 2 days

Due Date: 12/31/2016 New Year's Eve! The OBGYN's office actually called me on Friday to start scheduling my c-section! I was in total shock b/c the OBGYN told me to go home and think about it and that I couldn't schedule it until my 36 week appointment. For now they told me to just pick my 1st and 2nd choice dates and they'd call back (at a later date?) and tell me if I got either date and which OBGYN will be doing it and then a week prior, they will call with the time. So I picked the 27th and 28th of December (I couldn't schedule before 39 weeks). Wish me luck! *Knock on Wood*

Baby is the Size of: A head of lettuce! Baby should be measuring about 19" long and should weigh 3.9 lbs but we already know she was weighing over 3 lbs 4 weeks ago. I'm thinking she has to be about 5 lbs now but we'll find out later today!!!

Weight Gain: 28 lbs- yikes! I'm thinking baby girl had a growth spurt this week, which is possible b/c I think I was a little bit hungrier last week.

Symptoms: Nausea, headaches, sore sensitive boobs, moody, fatigue, sciatic nerve pain, calf cramps, back pain (lower and now also mid), fainting, and a little bit of heartburn. Still taking 1 morning sickness pill before bed. I am also getting a little bit of hip pain feeling like my hips are stretching.

Gender: Girl!

Name: Rory Brielle

Movement: Yes. She has been a little more laid back lately but that's also more common around this time b/c she's running out of room.

Engagement Ring On or Off: On.

Signs of Labor: No but she is dropping or has dropped! Which means she is preparing for it, so if you want to consider that a sign of labor, then go for it. It might be hard to tell in my picture that I've dropped but I definitely have. I'm feeling more pressure on my pelvis and my bump is definitely lower. Plus, I feel a relief of pressure under my boobs and ribs and can breath easier now that she's dropped.

Maternity Clothes: I'm wearing maternity jeans but on other days I'm still wearing my pre-pregnancy jeans unzippered with a belly band. I'm wearing maternity shirts but also still wearing my pre-pregnancy shirts (not all of them obviously lol). I'm hoping to not have to buy anymore maternity clothes other than one more pair of maternity leggings. And I think I officially have to retire my pre-pregnancy skinny jeans for now- or at least my two pairs from American Eagle. I still wear my pre-pregnancy jeans some days but unbuttoned and unzippered with a belly band over them. But my American Eagle skinny jeans are getting tight and hard to get up my hips and butt, which would make sense if my hips are stretching. Oh well, no big deal. I can still wear like 3 other pairs of my pre-pregnancy jeans with belly bands and my 2 pairs of maternity jeans.

-This isn't necessarily a best moment for me but at the same time it kind of is. Jesse went hunting this past weekend down at my grandmom's in VA with some of my family. This left me to do errands alone and take care of the dogs alone but he did get 2 deer, which made him very very happy. So that makes me happy. He won't be going hunting again until next year since Rory is due next month. He cooked some deer steaks last night (so freakin' good) and the dogs got to get a little taste and they loved it.

-Getting started on the process of scheduling my c-section!

-Starting to get a tiny bit more done with the nursery/ baby prepping. All of the bottles and pacifiers are washed and put away/ organized! I still need to get the noise machine and humidifier out of their boxes and finish those closet dividers and stuff.

Missing: Wine, wine coolers, margaritas, and GIN and TONICS.

Cravings & Aversions: Rice (and Chipotle- that's a given), brownies, cupcakes, cookies, fruit, and fresh veggies (mainly fresh raw green peppers), chocolate, Belgian waffles, s'mores, french toast, pumpkin spice lattes, soft serve vanilla and chocolate twist custard, Wendy's (especially their spicy chicken sandwiches which I craved quite often in the first trimester), McDonald's french fries, Five Guys' french fries ( had them on Saturday and they tasted like Heaven!) and Olive Garden's black tie mousse cake.

Aversions... Still the same. Grilled chicken (unless it is like overdone and crispyish), nuts, spinach & artichoke dip, and biscuits.

Mood: Very happy but getting very easily annoyed.

Looking Forward to: My appointment today with the high risk specialist! I get to see our little girl on the ultrasound and get an update on her growth. I'm really interested to see how much she weighs. And then I have my prenatal appointment on Wednesday. At that appointment, I get to have my first NST (non stress test), so it will be a bit longer they said.

Wedding Wednesday

Ugh how is it already November??? I am feeling a little overwhelmed between preparing for Rory and planning a wedding but at the same time I don't because my mind is like 100% focused on Rory and 0% focused on wedding planning. And today I'm mainly just thinking about the fact that after my meeting I get to have Chipotle for lunch.

We did not get anything done last month and this sooo cannot happen again this month. So let's get onto reviewing what we need to get done this month in the world of wedding planning.

  •    Finish calculating food & drink estimate. This really isn't going to be too hard since I already have almost all of the individual prices written down and just need to finish writing prices down and add it all up but I just can't seem to get myself to do it. This WILL happen THIS month or I'm seriously going to kick myself.
  •    Start creating a reception playlist or at least figure out how many songs we need to choose.
  •    Pick out/ order wedding bands. I want to just get this done and over with before Rory is here and putting it on December's to-do list is just putting way too much shit on my shoulders. Plus, if we go pick out and order them Thanksgiving weekend/ Black Friday weekend, we might be able to get them a little cheaper.
  •    Finalize what the Ring Bearer is going to wear and let my sister know so that she has plenty of time to go out and buy it. And finalize or at least discuss in more detail what the Groomsmen and Jesse are going to wear. Aand look more for earrings for my MOH and Bridesmaid. I already started this last month or the month before but I don't really remember if I actually found a pair I was 100% sold on for them. So I should probably revisit that.
  •    Order invitations and RSVP cards. We are going to send them out in December before Rory is born to get it out of the way, so we need to order them this month.
  •    Get my mom to talk to the church next door to see if they'll let us use their parking lot for parking.
   Happy hump day!

Dog Halloween Costumes

Happy post-Halloween! I hope everyone had a fun and safe Halloween last night. Mine was pretty non-Halloweenish considering we didn't go trick-or-treating and didn't put out candy because 1. we had no trick-or-treaters last year and 2. I go to bed sometime between 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and was in bed at 7:00 p.m. last night. So we just acted like it was a typical after work evening, plus I was exhausted. But I still managed to cook dinner and get started on Rory's DIY hair bow/ hair clip and headband holder (and do a tiny tiny load of laundry).

Ok, enough with the boring details of last night. Let's get on to the oh so cute pictures of my dogs and my mom's dogs in their Halloween costumes! As you know, I usually go with a theme and this year's theme was Little Red Riding Hood.

I HAD to start out with Audrey b/c um just look at her! How freakin' cute does she look in this picture as Little Red Riding Hood?!!! I seriously can't even and she kind of even looks like Yoda (but with a red cape). I just love this little girl to pieces and pieces.

And here is my lumberjack (Tigger). He has the exact same shirt as George does (see George's picture) but I didn't get around to widening his shirt b/c who feels like sewing when you're pregnant? Not me. And his winter coat just so happened to work out as a lumberjack costume. Tigger definitely did not mind.

And here is my crazy big bad wolf, Gary. There used to be a big bad wolf dog costume online but they discontinued it and I didn't feel like making one. So I went on Amazon and found a wolf hat for a person and it worked for Gary lol but it is super hard to get this crazy nut to sit still for a picture (see his wagging tail), especially with a wolf hat on.

How cute is George as a lumberjack?! He LOVED wearing his shirt. I horribly cut the shirt to make it shorter (but still not short enough) and used the extra fabric to widen it between the shoulders because even a boy's xxl isn't wide enough between the shoulders for this bulldog's body.

And finally, little Gretta also as Little Red Riding Hood. She isn't too fond of clothes. She probably likes hoodies the best but usually if you put clothes on her, she drops to the ground and won't move. It's like she thinks she's being punished lol. Gretta, when are you going to learn that in this family, dogs like wearing clothes. Even though she wouldn't keep the hood on, at least she sat still and kept the cape on long enough for a picture. By the way, Audrey and Gretta's capes are actually Little Red Riding Hood capes for adults but the elbow length style. Poor Gretta has such little legs that she kept stepping on her cape causing it to unvelcro and free her of this "torture" ha!

Well, I hope y'all enjoyed this year's Halloween pictures! Be on the lookout for next year's where they will also feature Rory!!! I can't wait!
