22 Week Bumpdate

Image
How Far Along: 22 weeks and 2 days

Due Date: 4/14/18

Baby is the Size of: a spaghetti squash! Baby #2 should weigh 1 lb and measure 8" long. After my next scan, we should be able to get a better idea of the rate she is growing at.

Weight Gain: 7 lbs.

Symptoms: Nausea, vomiting ("controlled" by Diclegis-they didn't refill Promethazine), MOODY, emotional, fatigue, Depression, super EXHAUSTED, and lower back/ tailbone pain. I've also experienced a few times of getting hot and sweaty, feeling like my fingers and feet are swelling and tingly and heavy breathing accompanied by the oh so lovely nausea. When this happened the other day, I propped my feet up at work and just kept drinking water and after a little while it seemed to help.

Gender: Girl!

Name: Violet Jameson

Movement: Yes! This girl usually hangs down low and centered.

Nursery: Mermaid themed! Can't wait to get to work on this but need to get more done to the rest of our house first.

Maternity Clothes: I never f…

20 Week Bumpdate

Image
I know, I know, I'm late. I've been feeling sick and Jesse also hid the scale so that I couldn't weigh myself [insert eye roll emoji]. Butttt better late than never, right? Especially since I thought about skipping this one altogether after missing it.

How Far Along: 20 weeks and 5 days

Due Date: 4/14/18

Baby is the Size of: a mango! Baby #2 should weigh 10 oz and measure 6.5" long. At my anatomy scan at 18 1/2 weeks, this girl was weighing 9 oz. After my next scan, we should be able to get a better idea of the rate she is growing at.

Weight Gain: 6 lbs... ugh, I was not expecting to see that amount of weight gain on the scale when I weighed myself yesterday but it has been 2 1/2 weeks, almost 3, since I last weighed myself and when we moved, we ate junk like pizza b/c that's what you usually do when you move and need to unpack and get the rest of your cooking stuff from your old house and actually grocery shop. But a weight gain total of 6 lbs at almost 21 weeks preg…

11 Months Old

This is what 11 months old looks like. You are in that defiant rebellious stage. You get into anything and everything. You prefer to be pantless and sockless.

1st Halloween- you dressed up as a mermaid!

Experienced your first car accident... a deer hit mommy's car right after she had just started driving after stopping for a different deer.

You wave bye and hi all the time and now you're starting to do this flicky swish motion with your wrist while you wave that makes you look like such a diva.

You love to clap. We say, "Clap, clap, clap" and you clap away. It is the cutest!

We have added some whole milk to your bottles and you seem to like it. We're also trying to get you to use a sippy cup more. With the sippy cup, you tend to just tilt your head back while drinking it (I think you do that to let it just drip in your mouth- so clever).

You eat lots of real food and love it!... and soda thanks to Nonna.

You are obsessed with your eeyore toothbrush …

GIRL!!!!!!!!!

I am still in shock! I for sure thought we were having a boy but we're super excited! Even though we both originally wanted a boy this pregnancy, we then changed our minds and said we both wanted another girl and we got exactly that. Bring on the glitter, tutus, princesses, dress-up, and tea parties! I can officially use the hashtag #girlmom now.

It is so crazy to actually know what I am having. This was a whole new experience for us b/c with Rory, I had the genetic testing done. So I knew the gender early and was told over the phone and then relayed the info to Jesse. This time we had to wait longer and got to see the gender and do a little reveal. If you hop on over to my instagram you can see a short clip of the video if it is still in my instastories.

Prior to the appointment, my younger sister went to Party City and bought blue confetti and pink confetti and 2 black balloons. She had them put the girl confetti in one balloon and the blue confetti in …

Baby #2 Gender Guess

Alright y'all, we find out the gender later today!!! That means this is everyone's last chance to guess baby #2's gender before we find out and reveal. So freakin' excited!!! So let's take a look at what the Old Wive's Tales predictions are...

   1. Skull Theory- I couldn't do this since the tech only gave us 3D images printed out at my 12 1/2 week ultrasound. In simplest terms, rounder heads= girl, blocky/ square head= boy. So this Old Wive's Tale can't even be applied.

   2. Nub Theory- I was so sad that at my 12 1/2 week ultrasound, baby wouldn't cooperate and wouldn't move into a position to where we could do nub theory. But if the nub is straight, it is a girl and if it is sticking up (there's a certain degrees but it doesn't matter since this baby was too stubborn!), then it is a boy. And this Old Wive's Tale can't be applied.

   3. Ring Swing Test- If the ring moves in a circle (wedding band placed on a strand of yo…

How Far Along: 18 weeks and 2 days

Due Date: 4/14/18

Baby is the Size of: a sweet potato! Baby #2 should weigh 5 oz and measure 5.5" long

Weight Gain: At the 17 week mark, I was down 1 lb but as of this week, I've gained the weight back that I lost and I'm at my pre-pregnancy weight. Not complaining at all. This time last pregnancy I had gained around 7 lbs.

Symptoms: Nausea, vomiting ("controlled" by Diclegis AND Promethazine), bloating, MOODY, fatigue, Depression, lower back/ tailbone pain, and TMI but the last two days I've had diarrhea (not sure if it's pregnancy related or not but this is a new one for me).

Gender: WE FIND OUT TOMORROW!!!! *Knock on Wood* I think it is a boy. We'll be doing a live gender reveal on Facebook and I'll write a blog post announcing the gender and name the next day.

Name: We already have a name picked out for a boy and a name picked out for a girl. We will reveal when we find out the gender!

Movement: Pretty sure I'v…

Rory's 1st Halloween!

Image
Happy day after Halloween! This year was Rory's 1st Halloween. I was super excited but I also wished Halloween had fallen on a weekend b/c Rory and I usually go to bed at 7:00 p.m. (and wake up at 3:00 a.m.) on nights I have work the next day. So she (and I) was pretty tired and confused as to why she did not have a bottle, wasn't laying down and was out in the cold in a costume. But hey, totally understandable.

If you know me, you should know that we did a whole theme with our costumes. The dogs were originally supposed to be involved and I did make them half-assed costumes but then ended up not even dressing them up b/c I was just too darn tired and we had to hurry and get ready and head on over to my sister's house and get some trick-or-treating in real quick.

It was cold. That's the one unfortunate thing about Halloween... you never know what the temperature is going to be. I dressed Rory in layers underneath her costume and put a coat on her but it obviou…

16 Week Bumpdate

Am I done yet? Like seriously... but in all reality I'm almost at the halfway mark.

How Far Along: 16 weeks and 2 days

Due Date: 4/14/18

Baby is the Size of: an avocado! Baby #2 should weigh 3-5 oz and measure 4-5" long

Weight Gain: At the 15 week mark, I was down about 3 lbs but as of this week, I'm down 2 lbs from my pre-pregnancy weight. Still under my pre-pregnancy weight!

Symptoms: Nausea, vomiting ("controlled" by Diclegis AND Promethazine), bloating, MOODY, fatigue, Depression, and lower back/ tailbone pain.

Gender: I still have no idea but I'm starting to get the gut feeling again that we're having a boy. We find out (hopefully *Knock on Wood*) in 2 weeks and 1 day!!!

Name: We already have a name picked out for a boy and a name picked out for a girl. We will reveal when we find out the gender!

Movement: I thought I felt movement again but then I also had an extremely vivid dream that night that I felt the baby roll (I don't think I could possibly …

10 Months Old

At your 9(ish) month appointment, you weighed 18 lbs 4 oz (37th percentile) and were 28.25" long (71st percentile)! I think it is safe to say you're going to be a tall girl.

I swear you inhale whistled.

We went to Hershey Park! You didn't get to get on many rides b/c they said you have to be walking and it was pretty cold but you still really enjoyed it.

We went to the pumpkin patch and you picked (I picked) your pumpkin! You weren't all that phased about the whole experience (this place was kind of a dud anyways) but you loved crawling in the tunnel. We also finally carved your pumpkin last night.

We went to your Great Grandmom's farm again for cousin/ aunt Tiffany's wedding reception. We let you sit on a four wheeler and you looked like you wanted to ride so bad! But we didn't let you b/c I promised your first four wheeler ride will be with Daddy and he wasn't there.

You wave Bye Bye now and it is the cutest thing ever! Sometimes you ev…

14 Week Bumpdate

Jeez, I almost forgot to get a picture for this one and everything. I am just so freaking busy and tired.

How Far Along: 14 weeks and 2 days

Due Date: 4/14/18

Baby is the Size of: a lemon! Baby #2 should weigh 1.5 oz and measure 3" long

Weight Gain: At the 13 week mark, I was down about 4 lbs but as of this week, I'm down 2 lbs from my pre-pregnancy weight. It is so weird that again, on the odd week, I was down 4 lbs total but on the even week, I was down 2 lbs. Regardless, I am still under my pre-pregnancy weight this time around.

Symptoms: Nausea, vomiting ("controlled" by Diclegis AND Promethazine), bloating, MOODY, fatigue, Depression, and lower back/ tailbone pain.

Gender: Waiting until the anatomy scan this time to find out. When I had my first ultrasound, my gut feeling was girl but the past few weeks I've felt confident in saying it is a boy. And now I just have no idea.

Name: We already have a name picked out for a boy and a name picked out for a girl. We w…

12 Week Bumpdate

Image
So yea, I'm thinking this whole doing bumpdates every other week is working out pretty good. I'm posting this one a little later b/c my first appointment with MFM (Maternal Fetal Medicine/ high risk specialist) was scheduled for Tuesday (yesterday) and wanted to include that visit in this update.

How Far Along: 12 weeks and 4 days

Due Date: 4/14/18

Baby is the Size of: a plum! Baby #2 should weigh 1/2 ounce and measure 2.5" long

Weight Gain: At the 11 week mark, I was down about 4 lbs but as of this week, I'm down 2 lbs from my pre-pregnancy weight. It is so weird seeing the scale go down more so this pregnancy.

Symptoms: Nausea, vomiting ("controlled" by Diclegis AND Promethazine), bloating, moody, fatigue, and lower back/ tailbone pain.

Gender: Waiting until the anatomy scan this time to find out. When I had my first ultrasound, my gut feeling was girl but the past few weeks I've felt confident in saying it is a boy. I'm still thinking boy but just no…

9 Months Old

Image
What??? We're actually doing a monthly update on time? It must be a miracle! On another note, I can't believe we have a 9 month old!!!

9 Months Old

Rory's 9 month appointment isn't until next week, so we won't know how big you have gotten until then.

You like to swing your toys in Audrey's face/ at her and you think it is so funny (you don't do it in a mean way, trust me, mommy wouldn't stand for that).
Hurricane Harvey happened in Texas and we donated to an animal rescue and the Humane Society of the United States. Hurricane Irma and Jose occurred not long after in Florida.
You tried bbq chicken, pulled chicken from Mission BBQ, watermelon and the inside of a grape.
You're becoming so independent and you try to undress yourself all by yourself.
(Nonna holding you at Great Grandmom's Farm and you just being precious) First trip to Great Grandmom's (GG's) Farm in Virginia, which was also the longest car ride you've been in. You had …

10 Week Bumpdate

Image
Ok, so let's try this thing again lol. And as I said in my announcement post, these things are not going to be posted weekly. I'm going to try to do them every other week but we'll see.

How Far Along: 10 weeks and 2 days

Due Date: 4/14/18

Baby is the Size of: a prune! 1.5" long

Weight Gain: The other week, I was down 3 lbs but I gained one pound back last week. So I'm down 2 lbs. Definitely didn't have that with Rory but I'm not complaining.

Symptoms: Nausea, vomiting (controlled by Diclegis AND Promethazine), bloating, moody, fatigue, and lower back/ tailbone pain.

Gender: Waiting until the anatomy scan this time to find out. Luckily there is a lot going on from now until then to keep me busy. Funny thing is, I should be finding out the gender around the time my cousin is giving birth to her baby #2 (a girl, she already has a boy).

Name: We already have a name picked out for a boy and a name picked out for a girl. We will reveal when we find out the gender!

SURPRISE! Guess Who is Going to be a Big Sister...

Image
Surprise!!! Rory is going to be a big sister! Yup, you read that right. I’m pregnant with baby #2. We started trying a little earlier than we had originally planned (once we decided to have another baby) and got pregnant on the first try (something I didn’t expect). Baby #2 is due April 14, 2018 and will be 100% our last baby. We’re two and done no doubt.
This pregnancy has been very similar to my first but with some new things added. I started experiencing the dreaded morning sickness before I even got a positive pregnancy test. I started testing early (around 3 ½ weeks) because I was suspecting I was pregnant and would get super faint lines but couldn’t tell if my eyes were playing tricks on me or not. But I finally got a dark line and two positive digital tests when I was 4 weeks pregnant and then I believed it (still hadn’t even missed my period yet!). With Rory, I didn’t find out I was pregnant until the day before I was 5 weeks but we didn’t 100% believe it that day, so we had…

Months 7-8

Image
We're getting caught up!!! I was beginning to think it would never happen.

7 Months Old

First trip to Rita's! You had some of daddy's cotton candy italian ice but you weren't crazy about it. You loved sharing mommy's dr. pepper and vanilla gelati though!
We took you in your baby pool. You were ok with it but liked playing with the squirt toys.
You have transitioned from the infant bath tub to the blow up ducky tub (aka USS Ducky) and have bath toys. You like when daddy squirts you with the bath toys and you even open your mouth for him to squirt water in your mouth.
You got your ears pierced on mommy's birthday at the Piercing Pagoda at Park City Mall in Lancaster. Auntie Jen held you while I held the piercer's phone for you to watch the "Under the Sea" part from The Little Mermaid. You did great and look so cute!
You went to Harley's first birthday pool party.
You LOVE mac n' cheese baby food! Give you some mac n' cheese and sweet p…

Months 4-6

Image
Alright, now let's try to get through months 4-6.

4 Months Old

12 lbs 2 ounces, 24 1/2" long, 41.3 cm head circumference.

You finally sleep in your pack n' play and by "in your pack n' play" I mean like forreal. You no longer sleep in your car seat in your pack n' play.

I swear you said "wow".
You still love singing and dancing and when mommy says "boo". And you still love your Boppy lounger.
You're getting better with getting undressed and dressed and not being a total drama queen about it.
You love to be sitting up.
You're still teething and drooling a ton but no teeth have broken through yet. You like to chew on mommy's finger though. You love to suck on your finger and try to put your whole fist in your mouth.
You actually touch the dogs' faces now.
You love going to "school" at Aunt Andie's and you look very confused at Zoey whenever you see her and she is screaming and crying.
You're "tal…

I'm Baccck and Months 1-3 Update

Image
Well the title kind of says it all. I'm back or at least I'm trying to be. My life is and has been so hectic but I am really going to try to squeeze blogging in at least once or twice a month? I think that's a pretty realistic goal, right? When I actually have time, I'd really like to revamp the blog big time but for now, that is on the back back back burner.
Sooo my daughter is 8 months old today and I should probably get to writing and posting her monthly updates shouldn't I? I've been keeping notes in my iPhone, so I'm sure lots of things were missed but lets try to catch up and do better with month 9, ok?
1 Month Old
You had 3 doctor's appointments, so we have three different measurements... 1st: You were down to 8 lbs 2 ounces and still 21" long. 2nd: The following week you were up to 8 lbs 14 1/2 ounces. 3rd: You got up to 10 lbs and 22" long.
You're in size 1 diapers. I think you were in NB's for like 3 days.
Likes: Bottle,…
