Rhylan's Mermaid Nursery Reveal

Happy Monday y'all! I finally got around to taking pictures of Rhylan's nursery and now posting the reveal. How am I on top of things the 2nd time around?! I never even got around to revealing Rory's nursery (I plan to reveal Rory's nursery/ room this week, so be on the lookout for that post b/c her floral + woodland critter nursery is the cutest ever) and here I am 34 weeks and 2 days pregnant revealing my 2nd baby's nursery.

The frames are all from A.C. Moore but I painted the one with the starfish and the purple one. The star fish came in a pack of like 15 with different colors from Amazon (I hot glued it onto the frame) and the "R" is also from A.C. Moore. I bought paint from A.C. Moore including the gold puffy paint I used to make the "R" mermaid-like. The piece in the upper left hand corner is one of my mom's old dance costumes that I framed. I thought it went perfect with the color scheme and mermaid theme/ beachy theme. The prints are all downloadable and printable prints I purchased from Etsy (OysterMermaidBeach Baby).

The rack was already there when we bought the house and I just threw (so gracefully, right?) the infantino baby carrier and J.J. Cole fleece lined car seat cover on it (both are the ones we used with Rory). The white shelf used to be in the dog room at the old house. The baby monitor is by Summer Infant and we have the same one in Rory's room. The octopus night light is by Cloud B and it projects onto the ceiling/ walls and then shuts off automatically after like 45 minutes (Rory has a hedgehog). And that sweet little mermaid book my younger sister got off of my Amazon registry- I cannot wait to read this to Rhylan!

This little mermaid sign is from Etsy. They also have a bigger version- I wasn't looking at the dimensions when I ordered it. The seahorse is either from A.C. Moore or Michaels and Rory painted it. I love that Rhylan has some sentimental personal pieces in her nursery.

And as you can see, she is stocked up on clothes, diapers and wipes. This sweet little toy box is by Olive Kids and I got it off of Amazon.

And I thought this white wash growth chart was just perfect for Rhylan's beachy mermaid nursery.

The crib is the Delta Children Emerson 4-in-1 convertible crib from Target and the fleece mermaid tail blanket my aunt got from Joann Fabrics.

The dual sided crib mattress and mattress protector are the same ones I got for Rory from Target (of course) and the waves crib sheet my younger sister got off of my Amazon registry (it is on sale for only $7.99 right now!!!). And how adorable is this mermaid wearable blanket sack I also got from Amazon (I mean seriously, what would I do without Amazon and Target?!)?!!! I plan to bring Rhylan home wearing this outfit and I am so excited to see her little newborn self in it.

For one of the Christmas presents this year to the grandkids, my mom got them little elves with their name and the year on it. At the time we were still sticking with Violet as her first name, so my mom got one for Rhylan and "2018" on it- hey at least I kept "Violet" in her name right? The narwhal rattle came with a pink blanket from Target and the octopus pacifier holder was off of Zulily. The mermaid pillow doll is by Pillowfort from Target and the mermaid tag blanket is from Amazon. And I highly recommend this Vtech hippo. It projects a starry night onto the ceiling and walls, tells stories and plays music. It also not only shuts off automatically, but it starts playing music again if baby is crying! We have the same one at the end of Rory's crib and she loves it.

Shelves were already there when we moved in, the aqua bins are by Pillowfort from Target, the changing pad cover is Cloud Island from Target, the changing pad is from Amazon but I think Target also sells it (I have the same one in Rory's room), the rope basket is from Target and they also have a bigger version, the diaper caddy is from Amazon (Rory has a mint colored one- these are great for things like diaper cream, boogie wipes, lotion, medicine, etc. and can be used for makeup or hair accessories when they are older), the curtains are also by Pillowfort and they are really nice quality that blocks light, and the dresser/ changing table is Delta Children Emerson from Target.

The glider is the one that used to be in Rory's nursery and it is from Amazon and I scored that rocking chair for $10 off of Facebook Marketplace. I plan to sand down and paint the rocking chair but not sure when I'll actually get to that. I still need to make the girls jewelry boxes too (the stuff for it is hiding in Rhylan's toy box haha).

I made the hair bow/ hairband organizer (the letters, paint, frame, lace and rope came from A.C. Moore and I think we got the little hooks from Walmart), the dollhouse shelf is from Target dollar spot, my mom got the canvas for my baby shower off of Etsy (back when her first name was still Violet), and we got the anchor rack from A.C. Moore or Michaels and then Jesse painted it.

I seriously love picking out stuff for nurseries, decorating and designing nurseries and creating gallery walls and I am really happy with the turnout of Rhylan's nursery. It is so light, airy and beachy. Just looking at it from the hallway pulls you in and instantly puts you in that relaxed beach vibe- hoping this does the same for Rhylan!

   So what do y'all think?

  1. Gratitude for Rhylan's Mermaid Nursery Reveal. All of the color schemes are outstanding. Gratitude for sharing the photos here. I too like the pastel shades and for my sister’s baby shower I also would be hosting a pastel fairy themed baby shower that will be hosted at one of the nearby home studios NYC.
